The seedling house is full of transplants and the fields and hoop houses are filling up quickly with lettuce, onions, kale, swiss chard and our first raspberry plants. While I grapple with staying informed and looking beyond this small corner of New Hampshire that I inhabit, I also must trudge through the snow to feed and water 300 chickens, walk the dog, make soup for dinner, sweep the ashes from the wood stove and stoke the fire.
