Solstice Sunshine

Hello All,
The early summer heat has swept us into mid June and we are enjoying these cooler days where the sunshine doesn't accost us quite so aggressively in the fields. The summer crops are growing in leaps and bounds and we are hurrying to trellis the tomatoes almost every few days now. The first baby beets will be making an appearance at market tomorrow and the basil is fragrant and ready for pesto!
With Patrick gone, Jasen and I have been putting in some early mornings and later evenings, as we attempt to stay on top of weeding, trellising, planting, harvesting, packing, building and maintaining. The greenhouse we are building for our winter chicken coop is coming along, fence lines need to be mowed and weed whacked, the garlic is scaping and everything is growing at a magnificent but unstoppable rate.
We hope you will come visit us at market TOMORROW, Wednesday June 17th from 3pm - 6pm at the Bowling Alley in Peterborough. See below for the full list of what we will be bringing.
Please reach out to us if you have questions. We hope to see you at market!

Recipe Ideas
Now is the time for pesto using both garlic scapes and basil. Here are two ideas.
Pesto is so versatile, don't be afraid to adjust to your liking. I usually use sunflower seeds instead of pine nuts, you could add in baby kale or arugula for more green, sub more or less garlic, the list goes on!
I am so excited about the baby beets this week. They are so tender you don't need to do much to them, but here is an idea for a Beet Avocado Salad that really lets the beets shine. To keep it simple just peel and steam the beets and eat with a little salt!

This year we are offering Farm Credit Cards which can be loaded at any time and used at market.
