Summer Colors

Hello All,

The neon hues of early spring have given way to the deeper greens and blues of summer. I always try to hold on to these seasonal shifts; noticing when the light changes and the sounds of the insects change, peepers giving way to crickets and oven birds, spring buds to full fledged leaves and flowers. Now the bounty on the farm starts rolling in too, peas and cucumbers, tomatoes and parsley. The farmers had the first taste of a sungold tomato yesterday (coming soon!) and the cucumbers and zucchini are about the size of our thumbs. We have been preparing for this since February, carefully sowing the seeds, keeping them warm and watered, planting, tending, nurturing. These days walking around the farm on any given morning provides new surprises to admire. The beets are bigger! The zucchini will be ready in a few days! The weeds have overtaken this bed! And so on. It is both an endless joy and an endless to do list.

This morning I am headed out to harvest with the Wednesday crew. We have sugar snap peas to get, beets and kale, head lettuce and swiss chard, pea shoots and more. We hope you will come visit us at market TODAY, Wednesday June 24th from 3pm - 6pm at the Bowling Alley in Peterborough. See below for the full list of what we will be bringing.

Later this week we will be working on the new hoop house again, weeding the onion beds so they can grow bigger and planting our fall kale. I hope you can all get out into the sunny green and blue today - summer in New Hampshire is a magical season.

Please reach out to us if you have questions. We hope to see you at market!
