A Season of Change

Hello All,

It has been a while since I sat down to write you all. In that time the days have gotten short and dark, the summer crops have been harvested, the garlic has been planted and the fields have been cover cropped (their version of being tucked into bed). The mornings greet us with frost on the hillsides, while the last of the brown leaves cling to the trees along the field edges.

Our days hold a different rhythm this time of year. Without the constant growth and heat of summer we have turned our attention towards building and planning projects to set ourselves up for next year. Yesterday we finally got the plastic on our brand new hoop house located at our house. This will be our seed starting space next year. We also welcomed a livestock guardian dog, Koginut (Kogi) to the farm. He is in charge of chicken protection and snuggles and has already brought us so much joy!

We recently completed our Farm Fund Grant which we received from the Monadnock Food Coop. We were able to purchase a Root Barrel Washer and an Egg Washer to increase production of root crops and eggs. Both pieces of equipment have already vastly improved these systems and made them so much more fun! Below is a picture of us with the Root Barrel Washer.

Looking Ahead

Our farm is in a season of change and transition. This is our last year leasing at Nubanusit Neighborhood and Farm. While this is a bittersweet ending, we are excited for what is to come. Spring 2026 we will begin building a new, bigger farm store located on Union Street directly across from Steele Road. Our new Farm Store will have more space for selling our vegetables and eggs as well as other local products. It will also house a commercial kitchen for processing food and two apartments above to rent out to farm workers. This is a big project that will take over a year to complete. We have been working behind the scenes to get everything ready to start building. We are really excited for this next step.

While we will still be selling wholesale to Roy's Market and Nature's Green Grocer, we have yet to decide what other sales avenues we will be offering next year. We will keep you posted as our plans evolve. In order to grow our farm we must take a step back to make room for these changes. We appreciate all of you for supporting and growing with us along the way.

For Now

In the meantime our Farm Store at Nubanusit Neighborhood will be open until Thanksgiving! We hope you will continue to shop local and support local farmers. We try to keep the store stocked every day. If you are interested in ordering bulk amounts of onions, garlic, carrots, celeriac or granola please reach out to us before November 27th.

Where can you find our veggies?

Bulk Orders

Stock your larder before the store closes for the season! We are offering bulk amounts (5lbs or more) of onions, garlic, carrots and celeriac. You can also order bulk amounts of granola (3 quarts or more). Please email us before November 27th to place your order and schedule a pickup. In the meantime, all of this and more is available in the Farm Store.

Farm Store

Our Farm Store is open every day dawn to dusk and is self serve. We stock it Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and try to keep it loaded up with everything we are harvesting at the time. If you are looking for something specific send us an email! We can always set aside special orders. On Thursdays we get fresh Orchard Hill bread and cookies delivered. Here is a quick look into what is coming out of the fields and root cellar this week.
