Hello from the MAY-hem of May where we are planting tomatoes and peppers one day and covering everything to stay warm for a frosty night the next. Spring as a farmer is a wild time, so we learn to adapt, a lot like the plants we care for. We spent most of the day today covering sensitive crops from the upcoming frost. It is tempting to want to plant your transplants out on these warm days but it is even more important to check the forecast and wait so that once you do plant your seedlings will thrive. If you came to our past two plant sales and haven't planted things like flowers, herbs and peppers yet, wait just a bit longer! If you have, make sure to cover them or bring them inside for the night.
On that note, we are excited for our third and final Plant Sale this Saturday May 20th. This is a big one, we will have all sorts of varieties of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and basil as well as marigolds, zinnias, sunflowers and much more. We really hope to see you there. If you can't make it but are still looking for starts, send us an email and we can arrange a time for you to come pickup what you need. Below is a list of what we will have at our final sale.
