Hello Members,
Welcome to CSA Week 1! We are so excited you are here. The days are long and full of sunshine, the plants are growing strong and tall and we are working hard to have everything ready for a bountiful first CSA pickup.
The first few weeks of CSA are heavy on greens and as the season progresses you will start to see more variety. Now is the time for beautiful big salads, stir frys and all your best salad dressings! I love the freshness of the greens after a long winter and find myself throwing them in every meal.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the farm tomorrow and sharing in the beauty of what we have grown. Please feel free to ask us any questions and take a stroll around the farm. Happy Summer!
CSA Pickup Important Reminders Pickup is from 3pm-5:30pm at Nubanusit Neighborhood and Farm, 21 Callies Common, Peterborough, NH, 03458. Once you arrive follow the driveway all the way down past the garages until you see a barn and a silver truck. To your right you will see a grass path and another barn with an open sign on it. Follow the path and you will see our Farm Store and CSA pickup. Bring a reusable bag to pack your share into. Granola shares, don't forget to get your granola as well! All granola shares pickup the first week. Remember! 8 Week Shares can pickup any 8 weeks over the 16 week season. We recommend starting now and picking up every other week to keep it simple. However, we know schedules don't always allow for that. This was designed for people with busy schedules. We wash most of our produce before distribution but its always a good idea to give everything a rinse before you eat it. Our veggies can last weeks if stored properly! Recipes Ideas:
Spring CSA is all about the bounty of greens! We love tossing greens into our eggs in the morning, rice bowls at night and even pancakes! So don't be shy with them. Most people aren't sure what to do with Bok Choy and since it isn't around for long in the spring its best to enjoy it now. This recipe for Bok Choy Salad with Miso Tahini dressing is a good option for warmer nights and incorporates all the freshness of spring greens. Send us your recipes if you tried something and love it! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! We are excited to be growing for you.
