Hello All,Yesterday in anticipation of this April snow storm we seeded two long beds of carrots. Just as we finished the snow began to fly. Our hope is that the snow will give the carrot seeds moisture to germinate and once it melts they will sprout. But who knows when it will melt by! We are at 11 inches of snow and counting here on this hilltop. This week we worked hard on completing one of the end walls on our new hoop house. We also seeded hot peppers, greens and flowers and potted up some herbs. The tomato and pepper starts are beginning to grow their first true leaves and next week we will pot them up to give them more space. In the hoop house we transplanted lettuce, kale, chard, peas and spinach and potatoes for CSA shares, don't you want to be a part of it? If you haven't signed up or paid for CSA yet this year, now is the time! Please sign up for our summer CSA! If you have already signed up, thank you! The CSA model is important because it supports your local farmer, economy, land and food system. You are committing to supporting local and organic food throughout the entire growing season. CSA shares bring you closer to eating with the seasons and understanding what it takes for farmers to grow food in your climate. Growing food for our community is the most important work we can be doing at this time and we love sharing it with you all.Thank you for supporting our farm! Stay tuned for Farm Store opening dates and our spring Plant Sales. In the meantime, spread the word about our CSA and JOIN US for another season of organic produce.
